Now I love movies, I don’t watch a lot of TV but I do love movies. In fact I love movies enough to collect them. And what’s not to love, no commercials, pause to get something to eat or drink, watch whatever you want when you want. But some movies you just gotta go WTF ?
Most recently I was watching The Fate of the Furious, the latest and 8th installment of the The Fast and the Furious franchise, and during the scene where the villain played by the always delicious Charlize Theron is taking over the controls of hundreds of cars to attack, box in, and drop on, an autocade you start to think hummmmm, now why is it that the only cars not affected is the autocade and Dom’s team. You would think that those are the cars that you would want to control, but then that would totally make throwing cars off a parking lot seem pointless. Well, movies aren’t always consistent with common sense.
Case in point, Jeepers Creepers. You gotta love a movie where the creature has a sick sense of humor, but how exactly does a creature live in a place for decades, as apparent from the amount of corpses compiled on the walls and ceiling, and the fact he only lives for 23 days every 23 years so it must have taken some time to build up that ghoulish display reminiscent of Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel, and the municipality never comes to collect property taxes. And if that wasn’t strange enough, how exactly does a creature get vanity plates. Do you suppose he stood in line at the DMV? Maybe he ordered them off Amazon.
Suffice it to say, sometimes it’s not the amount of thought put into a movie that is the highest consideration, sometimes it’s just what looks cool, and that’s OK, because we don’t watch movies for accuracy, we watch them for entertainment, even if some parts make us scratch our heads in wonder if they were doing more shrooms those days they conjured up and shot those scenes.
